A 31-year-old Russian woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in a rented room at Dandos Wado, Mandrem, on Monday night.
According to reports, Elina Ibonichova allegedly hanged herself with the help of nylon rope by tying it to the window grill.
The incident came to light on Tuesday at about 11.30 am when the house owner noticed that there was no response from Elina.
The house owner informed the Pernem Police, who rushed to the site and fond the Russian woman hanging.
It is learnt that the deceased was mentally disturbed.
After conducting the panchnama, Pernem Police have sent the body to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for autopsy. DySP D’Silva Pernem PI C L Patil conducted the panchnama and police is investigating the case.
