PERNEM: Pernem Police arrested a Russian national one Mark Smyslov at Morjim for possessing narcotics drugs suspected to be charas worth Rs 5 lakh in the international market.
PI Jivba Dalvi said the raid was conducted in near a restaurant at Temwada, Morjim where the accused had concealed the drugs in a car.
The raiding team comprised PSI Sanjit Kandolkar, Head Constable Pravin Mahale, Constables Vinod Pednekar, Arjun Kalangutkar, Sandesh Varak and Mahesh Naik.
Police have seized the car and have registered an offence under Section 20(b)(ii) (B) of NDPS Act 1985.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of Mapusa SDPO Gajanan Prabhudesai and North SP Shobit Saxena.
