A 25-year-old Russian woman was allegedly molested by a 49-year-old tourist from Bhopal at Baga beach on Tuesday evening.
Calangute police was tight-lipped in the matter and refused to disclosed further details into the incident.
However, sources told Herald that the victim was bathing with her friends at Baga beach, when the accused molested her in the sea.
She raised an alarm and an irate mob caught hold of accused and assaulted him at the beach.
He was later handed over to the police, where he was detained for further interrogations. The accused was first sent for a checkup at the Candolim Primary Health Centre, from where he was taken to the GMC hospital. The victim was also sent for a medical examination to the GMC hospital, sources told Herald.
This incident comes barely 10 days after a 23-year-old Russian woman was allegedly molested by a 20-year-old youth from Andhra Pradesh at the Arambol beach on January 9.
