Russian National Arrested by Mandrem Police for Violating Stay Regulations

Mandrem Police apprehended a Russian national for unlawfully staying in Goa, leading to the registration of a case against him. The accused, identified as Stepanov Alexandrovich, aged 30, was found to be residing in Goa even after the expiration of his visa.

The Mandrem Police initiated legal action by filing an FIR under sections 7(1)(3) of the Foreigners Order and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1948. These sections pertain to violations related to the stay of foreign nationals in the country.

The accused has been taken into custody by the police and is currently under their supervision. The arrest was made after the police discovered the individual continuing to stay in Goa despite the expiry of his visa.

The investigation is ongoing, with Police Inspector Sheriif Jacques leading the inquiry under the guidance of SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi and Superintendent of Police North, Akshat Kaushal, IPS. The authorities are diligently working towards a thorough examination of the case to ensure compliance with legal procedures.
