MARGAO: City-based NGO United Goans Welfare Front has served a legal notice on the District Collector, South, to revoke and cancel a conversion sanad dated March 8, 2013 or face legal action in the court of law.
The NGO contended that the District Collector had issued the conversion sanad by changing status of the zone from Orchard to Eco-Tourism without allegedly having any kind of road access to develop the property at Loliem.
UGWF president Socorro D’Souza and general secretary Laurel Abranches maintained that they are not against the project, but took strong exception to different set of yard sticks applied by the bureaucrats and government by bending rules and regulations for outsiders and a different rule book for native Goans.
Outsiders get special privilege from governmnet authorities, the duo chided.
