The South Goa district administration is gearing up for the upcoming South Goa Zilla Panchayat elections scheduled for De cember 20 with the State Election Commission releas ing comprehensive arrange ments for the nomination process across all constitu encies in the district. According to the official notification, nomination pa pers will be accepted from December 1 to December 9, between 10 am and 1 pm. The Commission clarified that no nominations will be taken on December 3 due to a public holiday, and Decem ber 7, a Sunday. To streamline the process, the Commission has desig nated multiple filing centres across South Goa, ensuring that every constituency has a clearly assigned location accessible to candidates. In Ponda Taluka, candi dates from Usgao-Ganje, Betqui-Candola, Curti, and Veling-Priol will file their nominations at the Court Room of the Additional Collector–III, located on the second floor of the Govern ment Complex Building at Tisk, Ponda. Meanwhile, candidates from Queula, Bo rim and Siroda will submit their papers on the fourth floor of the same complex. In Salcete Taluka, nomina tions for Raia, Nuvem, Colva, Velim, and Benaulim will be accepted at Room 226 of the Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex in Margao. Adjacent Room 227 will serve candidates from Davorlim, Guirdolim, Cur torim, and Navelim. For candidates in Dhar bandora Taluka, including Sanvordem and Dharban dora constituencies, nomi nations will be received at the Election Cell Chamber on the upper ground floor of the Dharbandora Gov ernment Office Complex. Further south, candidates from Rivona will file papers at the Government Building Complex in Sanguem, situ ated on the first floor. In Quepem Taluka, the Block Development Office in Quepem will act as the filing centre for candidates contesting from Xeldem and Barcem. In Canacona Taluka, candidates from Cola and Poinguinim will submit nominations at the Block Development Office in Chaudi, located within the government complex. Lastly, the coastal con stituencies of Sancoale and Cortalim will use the Block Development Office of Mor mugao Taluka as their offi cial nomination centre. These detailed arrange ments aim to ensure a smooth and well-coordi nated nomination process across South Goa as the district prepares for an im portant round of local body elections.
