Saab a believer in Make in India programme

Panjim: The Swedish major Saab, is looking to enhance its share in the Indian defence market and hope its SRSAM and VSHORAD defence programmes are approved by the Indian defence forces.

Panjim: The Swedish major Saab, is looking to enhance its share in the Indian defence market and hope its SRSAM and VSHORAD defence programmes are approved by the Indian defence forces. This was revealed by a senior executive of the company at the defence expo yesterday.
Görgen Johansson said the company had a tie up with the Kalyani group and this just one of the several tie ups it had in India. The company he said had a development centre in Hyderabad with 250 engineers and R&D work was conducted in that facility. This was a tie up with Mahindra. 
The company was also manufacturing camouflage suits. Gorgen said the company was devoted to the Make in India and had been doing this much before it was even discussed. The company he said was keen and had transferred technology and had a very long term commitment to the Indian market.
