Sada house catches fire twice in two days

VASCO: Fire broke out in a house at Headland Sada for the second time in as many days, and co-incidentally, originated from the same spot. The incident has surprised the locals and Vasco fire personnel.

The first incident occurred on Friday, and the lone occupant Ramdas Shripad Mahale (48) was burnt to death. The fire was believed to be caused by a lit cigarette that Mahale had left on his bed.
On Saturday, neighbours again noticed smoke emanating from the house and immediately alerted Vasco fire and emergency personnel, who extinguished the fire as they did the previous day.
Vasco fire station in-charge Namdev Parwar recalled that he and his team had doused the flames on Friday.
, and the bed where the fire broke out was soaked. He further said. “Before leaving the place on Friday, I had thoroughly checked the house to ensure that the fire was doused completely. There is a possibility that the sponge of the bed still had some ember, which led to the led to fire on Saturday.”
However, Parwar admitted that he was not convinced by his own theory.
With fire officials clueless about the cause of the fire, locals started theorizing that it was the act of ghost and that the house was now haunted.
