VASCO: Curchorem MLA Cabral has stated that jail authorities would initiate a personal inquiry into the narcotics and other addictive substances found at Sada sub jail. He has also stressed on rectifying the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and improving facilities for the benefit of the inmates.
Cabral was speaking to the press after a routine meeting of the Sada sub jail visiting committee at the jail premises on Thursday.
The meeting was also attended by committee chairman Desmond D’Costa, Sada sub jail Superintendent Sabaji Shetye South Goa Superintendent of Police Shekhar Prabhudessai, Vasco Dy SP Sucheta Dessai and others.
Speaking to the press, Shetye, who is also the Mormugao Deputy Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate, disclosed that the government had initiated an independent magistrate probe into the assault case of mining activist Ravindra Velip.
