Sada new market to be operational in three months time: Minister

VASCO: The much awaited new market complex-cum-community hall project at Sada will likely to be operational within three months. Permission from Indian Navy with regards to the 4-km radius notification will be taken after consulting Advocate General, informed Urban Development Minister Milind Naik.

Recently at an event, Naik had said that there is some pending internal work of the new market complex project, which would be completed in three months time. The completion work got delayed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Naik further informed that after the work is completed, clearances from the Mormugao Municipal Council and Mormugao Planning and Development Authority will be obtained. He also added that he may also have to take the Indian Navy’s NOC after consulting the Advocate General and take part occupancy and make the new market complex operational.

He concluded informing that he has discussed this issue with the MPDA chairman and the chief officer of MMC. The shops in this market complex will be allotted as per the procedures only.
