Sadguru Parwadeshwar Maharaj passes away

PONDA: Sadguru Parvadeshwar Maharaj of Bethora Math passed away on Monday at 11.30 am. Designated by the UN as World Ambassador for Peace,

 he was the first swami to organise Sarva Dharma Bhakti Sammelan 25 years ago with the aim to preach the message of peace in the world. He even went to Kashmir to hold peace talks with Hurriat leaders. He had thousands of disciples in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and has 285 maths.  
A pall of gloom descended over the Gayatri Peeth at Bethoda where devotees thronged in large numbers to have a final glimpse of Sadguru Parvadeshwar. The final rites will be held at 3 pm at Bethora Math on June 23. 
He commenced all religions seminar for world peace in Goa, since the last 25 years. It had a number of inter religious leaders as well as experts from various countries. The aim was to promote religious harmony, where rituals and traditions no longer led to confrontation and conflict but to love, faith, and mutual bonds unity. 
He along with his associate swamy Bhahu Maharaj worked hard to reduce drug addiction in followers and disciples. 
Just two days ago Parwadeshwar Maharaj had felicitated Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar who lauded his effort for welfare of society and the world.
MLA Vishnu Wagh condoled the demise of Parwadeshwar Maharaj and said he had done great work to reform society.
