VASCO: Safety railings are being erected along the roads at New Vaddem and Maimolem.
Safety railings are being erected after locals complained to Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida that in the absence of a safety barrier the roads at these two wards have become dangerous.
Following the complaints, the MLA launched the work of erecting safety railings on Wednesday. The work of improving the drainage system was also launched by the MLA.
On the occasion, Almeida said that people had approached him to get safety railing installed along the roads. “The steep slope roads have become prone to accidents and therefore many accidents had occurred in past, people told me,” Almeida said.
Ward Councillor Fredrick Henriques said that the safety railing was a long pending demand and he was happy that the demand was fulfilled by the MLA.
