CANACONA: The 16th edition of Sahitya Manthan, a movement of rural literature will be inaugurated by Commonwealth award winning poet Salil Chaturvedi and Goa’s noted poet Sanjiv Verenkar on April 20 at Mashem-Canacona.
The edition consist of programmes related to cinema, theatre, poetry, folk, seminar, painting and book exhibition. It would be held at the residence of Sandesh Prabhudesai at Agas, Loliem, from 3.30 to 7.30 pm, states a press release.
The ‘Fest’ a major attraction of Sahitya Manthan, will be inaugurated by Chaturvedi and includes exhibition of books written by writers from Canacona as well as a painting exhibition.
The inaugural, called ‘Naman’ will be inaugurated by poet and journalist Sanjiv Verenkar. Loliem-Pollem Sarpanch Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, Taramati Gaonkar from Cotigao, who provides herbal medicine, will release second edition of a book written by Dr Archana Gaonkar, on ayurvedic medicine.
Canacona-based national Sahitya Academy Youth Literary Award winner Yogini Acharya and Balashree award winner Shriya Tengse will be felicitated. A seminar called ‘Ganvponn’ will also be held.
