People have been fined for not wearing face masks and spitting in public places, said a senior police officer.
The maximum number of violators was found at marketplaces or travelling in vehicles.
Another senior police officer clarified that people travelling in vehicles have to wear a face mask as well.
In the past we have not only fined people for not wearing face mask but also distributed pamphlets to several people creating awareness but have ensured that underprivileged people do not feel harassed while enforcing face mask rule,” said one senior police officer.
