MARGAO: As per the Audit reports, a total number of 213 developmental works were undertaken in Salcete taluka in 2018-19 to 2021-22, even though the State went through a lockdown in 2020-21 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
While Navelim Panchayat carried out a maximum 39 works, no works were undertaken in seven panchayats namely Chandor-Cavorim, Guirdolim, Macasana, Aquem-Baixo, Orlim, Telaulim and Ilha de Rachol.
Chinchinim-Deussua was the second highest with 21 works undertaken, followed by Camorlim with 18 works.
In 11 panchayats, less than 10 developmental works were undertaken and these include Carmona, Dramapur-Sirlim and Curtorim (one each); Betalbatim and Cavelossim (two each); Ambelim and Paroda (five each); Cana-Benaulim and Varca (six each); Davorlim-Dicarpale (seven) and Seraulim (eight).
The developmental works carried out in eight other panchayats are 11 in Loutolim; Velim and San Jose de Areal (12 each); Rumdamol-Davorlim and Raia (13 each); Nuvem (14); Sarzora (16) and Camorlim (18).
The auditors have failed to mention how many works were undertaken by Sernabatim-Vanelim-Colva-Gandaulim and Assolna panchayats.
