Sale of govt stock notified

PANJIM: The State government has notified the sale of Goa Government Stock (Securities) of 10-year tenure for an aggregate amount of Rs 100 crore.

The auction will be conducted by the Reserve Bank of India, at its Mumbai Office on Monday, November 1, 2021. The tenure of the stock will commence on Tuesday, November 2. Puneet Kumar Goel, Principal Secretary (Finance) added that the loan will be repaid at par on November 02, 2031.

Consent of the Central Government has been obtained to the flotation of this loan as required by Article 293(3) of the Constitution of India.

It may be recalled that in the first week of October 2021, the State government had put stock of Rs 100 crore for sale. Similarly, in the first week of September 2021, the government had put stock of Rs 200 crore for sale. It had earlier put stock of Rs 100 crore for sale in June 2021.

Like the previous instances, the proceeds of the loans will be utilised for financing capital expenditure in connection with the govt development programmes.
