Honda: Taps have run dry for the last three days in Saleli village in the jurisdiction of Honda panchayat much to the annoyance of locals as they begin preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi.
The Bhuipal villagers too have been facing similar problems and locals of both the villages have demanded that the department concerned sort out the issue immediately.
Saleli and Bhuipal gets its supply from the Dabos Water Plant in Valpoi and a control room has been constructed near the Bhuipal checkpost to regulate the supply of water.
However, frequent glitches at the Dabos plant as well as the control room at Bhuipal affects the supply of water. People from both the villages are solely dependent on tap water and even a day of supply cut-off affects the daily life of the common people.
“The water pipelines in these villages were laid around fifty years ago and have now deteriorated over the years. They have been damaged at various spots and need replacement. There are power problems at Bhuipal too and the departments concerned need to pay attention to both,” said a Saleli local.
