SATTARI: Saleli villagers on Friday blocked the path, which goes to the village waterfall and demanded that the Valpoi Deputy Collector depute police personnel during the weekend to stop the locals from visiting the place.

They also demanded to take action on the two illegal bars, which operate in the village, without the panchayat’s permission.

The villagers complained that despite the ban on visiting the waterfalls, the locals are coming at the village waterfall and consuming alcohol and making nuisance, thereby creating problems to the villagers.

It may be recalled that the Valpoi Deputy Collector had informed through the media that there is a ban on visiting waterfalls due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But still the locals are visiting the waterfalls in large numbers especially in the rural villages of Sattari and making nuisance.

The Saleli villagers had already informed the Valpoi Police Station about the problems they face and requested to take action. Till date, the Valpoi Police have not taken any action.
