PANJIM: The Saligao police on Saturday arrested Md Sahwaj, 27, native of Bihar for stealing a bike from Sangolda.
Police stated that one Azad Ahmed Mulla, lodged a complaint stating that his TVS scooter bearing registration No GA-03-AL-5428 which was parked outside his mutton shop was stolen at around 6 pm on June 11from Sangolda.
With meticulous efforts of PSI Akshay Gaonkar, PSI Dishan Naik, police constables Vijay Palni, Shrikrishna Redkar, Mhadev Naik and Rahul Angolkar, developed information and apprehended the accused Md Sahwaj from his rented room at Saligao.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed of having committed this crime and has been placed under arrest. The stolen bike has been recovered at the instance of accused, said police.
The above team worked under the guidance of PI Somnath L Mahajik of Saligao PS and overall supervision of SDPO Porvorim Dy S P Vishwesh Karpe and SP North.
