MARGAO: A Bangalore-based agency has said that sample testing from Nicomet Industries at the Cuncolim Industrial Estate has said the tests have conformed to laid-down parameters, barring the iron content in the water, which was found at a marginally higher level.
Chairman of Goa State Pollution Control Board Jose Manuel Norohna, however, said that the Bangalore-based agency would continue the tests periodically for a period of one year following reports of pollution and water contamination by the industry.
Norohna said the agency has been roped in to carry out testing of water samples pre-monsoons, during monsoons and post-monsoons to track down the pollution of the water bodies, including drinking water wells located in the vicinity of the factory.
