Members decide to take legal opinion to stop work on mega projects

VASCO: Sancoale gram sabha on Sunday deliberated on the garbage issue in detail, which haunting the village for years with the members deciding to take legal opinion to stop work on the mega projects in their areas.
Sancoale residents demanded a solution to the garbage issue as the panchayat assured a solution to their problems as soon as possible. 
“We want to take steps and show the results to the people and not just speak. We wish to collect garbage but we need people to segregate garbage as it will help the panchayat to solve the issue soon effectively,” said sarpanch Girish Pillai. 
The panchayat plans to create awareness among the people regarding garbage segregation.
The panchayat discussed the issue of Kala Bhavan in Sancoale, which has not been commissioned for last 10 years. 
“The incomplete Kala Bhavan has resulted in the village losing its land for a sports ground. People have demanded resolution to the impasse,” informed Pillai. 
The village body has decided to take a legal opinion on the power to revoke licences issued to mega projects in case of loopholes. 
The panchayat also decided to install CCTV cameras in all wards for surveillance purpose especially due to crimes in Zuarinagar and the cameras would installed using GPDP funds.
