VASCO: The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) was inaugurated in Zuarinagar-Sancoale in presence of Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha along with Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar and other panchayat members on Monday.
After the inauguration, Godinho said, “The BJP govt has been taking several steps to solve garbage issue from the State. The Saligao waste treatment plant’s 100 tonnes capacity is being increased. Cacora will also have its waste treatment plant shortly. On top of it, each panchayat is building its own MRF to solve garbage issue within its jurisdiction.”
He further revealed that soon three Tonne-Per-Day (TPD) capacity wet waste treatment plant will be set up in Sancoale and five in Chicalim panchayat area since it will also treat waste from the airport. Godinho urged to the people of Goa to segregate garbage at the source so that it will make things easier for the panchayat.
