Vasco: Agitated with lack of water supply for past one week, locals from Sancoale panchayat’s Ward Number 3 confronted the PWD engineer (water section) Naresh Painginkar and threatened to take out protest march if the supply was not restored soon.
Painginkar said that there has been a leakage in one of the pipelines, which was the reason behind insufficient supply. He assured that the repair work would be completed on Wednesday and the supply will be restored.
The locals were led by panch Tulshidas Naik as the supply to other wards was consistent. He claimed that release of water from Cortalim to Agassaim was the reason behind shortage of water to Ward 3 of Sancoale panchayat.
Meanwhile, the repairs were done at two places in the pipeline before. However, a bigger crack developed at another spot, Painginkar informed.
