Sancoale sarpanch’s remarks against MLA to gain political mileage: Alina supporters

VASCO: Hitting back at allegations and demand made by Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar asking for resignation of Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, her supporters opined that Borkar has no right to ask for her resignation. 

Saldanha’s supporters also alleged that Borkar is making such statements against the MLA to gain political mileage.

The supporters of Saldanha held a press briefing in Vasco on Friday evening in response to the recent statement and demand made by Sancoale Sarpanch Borkar that the MLA has failed in bringing major developments in Cortalim Constituency and she should resign from her position.

Achut Naik, a supporter of the MLA, said the allegations made by Borkar do not hold any truth and the Cortalim MLA have brought development in her constituency. When asked why some projects such as Kala Bhavan, Cansaulim PHC, Cortalim Market Complex projects are yet to be fully operational, Naik said that some projects are on the verge of completion whereas some have been stuck due to some technical issues.

“Borkar is making such bold statements against Saldanha for his own political aspirations and to gain political mileage,” said Naik.
