VASCO: A group of villagers from Sancoale Bodeabhat area on Wednesday morning visited the office of the Mormugao Deputy Collector and Block Development Officer (BDO) to know about the status of the contaminated spring issue.
But sadly the villagers were unable to meet both the officials as they were not available in their offices due to prior work related engagements.
Paulo Fernandes, a local from the Bondeabhat said,”A few affected people had specially come to visit the BDO and deputy collector, who had assured them a few days ago to initiate action on the contamination of spring. But till date nothing much has been done.”
He said, “When they went to meet the BDO, they learnt that the BDO has an additional duty at Panjim and hence was in the city.” Paulo informed that they visited the deputy collector office to inquire as to what action had been taken on the contamination of spring but, he too was unavailable.
