SANGOLDA: Issues related to garbage, mobile towers, widening of CHOGM road dominated the Sangolda gram sabha on Sunday.
Sarpanch Avinash Naik said that garbage bins will be placed at various places in the village as it was not possible to carry out door-to-door garage collection with the funds they had. He sought cooperation from the villagers in managing the garbage problems in the village.
With regards to the mobile towers, the villagers asked the Sarpanch as to why the tower was not dismantled despite the issue was raised over the last three months.
The Sarpanch said he would visit the site on February 12 along with the locals after a long discussion on this topic.
Housing Minister and Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar was present for the gram sabha to clear doubts on the CHOGM road widening. He said no compound wall would be affected in Sangolda in view of the road widening.
He assured the residents that not a single compound wall would be demolished and if it was necessary it would be done after taking an NOC from the land owner.
He informed the gathering that the road work has been tendered by GSIDC and electricity poles will be realigned to facilitate the road widening work as part of the tourism circuit project.
