MARGAO: Sanguem councillor Messaih alias Meshu D’Costa has filed his reply to the show cause notice before the South Goa District Magistrate, Margao, over the externment proceedings.
The South Goa Collector had issued a how cause notice dated November 2, 2022 to Meshu based on report from the Superintendent of Police, South Goa, which stated that he is involved in serious crimes several times and continues with his criminal activities with impunity.
Meshu said that being a sitting councillor of Sanguem Municipal Council, he has been targeted by persons having vested interests. From the nature of the show-cause notice it becomes clear that does not exist an iota of doubt that the allegations in the show-cause notice have been made for the sole reason of tarnishing the image and the reputation of the Respondent.
Meshu has strongly denied his involvement in serious crimes several times and that he does not continue with his criminal activities with impunity. He has also refuted police charge that he is constantly and regularly figuring adversely on police report for his act of lawlessness.
In his reply Meshu said that the show-cause notice is devoid of any material allegations and is silent to the manner in which he has been posing hazard in the maintenance of public peace.
