SANGUEM: A large gathering present to discuss on the proposed IIT project at Cotarli-Sanguem gave their nod for the project at Sanguem by raising their hand in support.
As against only a minuscule percentage of about five per cent voted against the project ultimately giving signal to the fresh proposal pressed by Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Phaldessai.
The proposal and the site for setting up the IIT incidentally remains to be the same site when the government earlier in August 2018 had decided to shift the project elsewhere given the stiff opposition by the farming community.
At Sunday’s meeting which was attended by over 1,500 people, those opposing the project failed to give clear reason for their opposing the project except for losses of their farm lands.
