SANGUEM: Sanguem traders are in dilemma as they claim that despite paying sopo and other taxes, they are being harassed by the municipality and police.  The traders alleged that they were being fined even when not using plastic bags.

“Police are forcefully asking us to pay for challans even when we don’t use the plastic bags. When I ask them to check the availability of bags with me, they still go about their business. The municipality challans us for one week, next week its the police,” said a   watermelon sellers.

“Despite we paying us sopo and parking fees, there is no security provided to us. Bulls cause ruckus right in the middle of the market,” said Jamal, who sells chillies.
