VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Vice president Sankalp Amonkar submitted complaint letter to the Deputy Collector of Mormugao on Tuesday demanding immediate arrest of the Urban Development minister Milind Naik for allegedly violating safety norms during recently held press conference in Vasco.

Amonkar said that “Rules are equally applicable to all citizens from this country, then if I was arrested for violations then why not arrest UD Minister” he questioned.

On Tuesday, GPCC vice chief Amonkar along with his supporters met Deputy Collector Sachin Dessai and submitted complaint letter demanding immediate action of arrest against UD Minister Milind Naik for allegedly violating the safety norms such as ‘not wearing mask’ during press conference.

Amonkar further said that rules are equally applicable to all and if so then if I was arrested for violating the social distancing norm under section 188, 269 and 143 then under same section, the police should show the same enthusiasm in arresting the minister. “DySP of Mormugao has also briefed media about my arrest and was swift in acting on us then where was he during the mass violation of social distancing done by the cabinet ministers during grade separator project recently” Amonkar questioned.

Amonkar warned saying, “If within two days time no action is seen initiated against UD minister then GPCC will take this issue with higher authority and won’t stop until justice is delivered”.
