Bharatiya Janata Party’s State unit said that the Sankalp Patra for Lok Sabha 2019 has something for everyone and Goa will be one of the States, to benefit with the party’s rule in the Centre. Right from Tourism to Coastal Development and benefits to the small shopkeepers, the manifesto is all inclusive, said BJP.
Listing the highlights from Sankalp Patra that would directly benefit Goa, the BJP said Coastal Safety is the first and foremost priority. “To exploit this potential fully, we have launched the Sagarmala project and will ensure speedy completion of the projects under this programme, said a press release issued by BJP.
BJP further intends to double Goa’s port capacity in the next five years.
“We will further encourage integrated development of coastal areas including coastal cities, coastal transport and coastal industrialization. We will continue to focus on development of inland waterways for shifting inland cargo movement from road and rail to water transport,” the release adds.
Pointing to the pension scheme for small shopkeepers, it says, they will create an umbrella scheme named “Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi  Maandhan,”  to cover all small shopkeepers.
Besides this, the BJP points out that their special focus will be on Fisheries — Blue Revolution; using tourism to cluster services; creating opportunities for youth and Sports.
