VASCO: Congress leader Sankalp Amonkar slammed Urban Development Minister Milind Naik for failing to keep his promise regarding not allowing naphtha to be stored in the containers of Ganesh Banzoplast ltd facility at Bogda.
On this note, Amonkar has called for Naik’s resignation on moral grounds. He also warned that he won’t allow naphtha to be transported via road, which he said will be a threat to public safety. He however added that if naphtha is transported via class A vessel, it is safe.
Addressing media persons, Amonkar criticised Naik for simply giving lip service to the people of Sada on the naphtha storage issue. Amonkar has said that even after protesting twice on this issue and the strong objection from locals and the minister, the government has completed the loading of naphtha into the GBL tanks.
Meanwhile, Goa First’s NGO Parshuram Sonurlekar slammed the government and questioned Chief Minister, whether the 200 per cent custom duty had been paid, and if so, whether it had come from the exchequer’s pocket.
He further criticised Chief Minister for pressing his decision to store naphtha inside GBL facility despite of facing objection from locals and Minister Milind Naik.
