SANQUELIM: Ten gadda owners from Gokulwadi in Sanquelim have refused to comply with the order of the municipality to shift their structures to a place near the PWD office, saying it would affect their business.
“We are running the gaddas here for the last 15 years. We are now very stable at this place. If we shift to another place, then, it will affect our business,” said Gaurish Ghadi, a gadda owner.
“Every day we are paying Rs 80 to the Sanquelim Municipal Council as sopo and we also have NOC from the municipality,” said another gadda owner.
Chandan Mayekar, another gadda owner, warned the municipality against forcibly shifting them to the new place. “If the municipality forcibly moved us to the new place, we will lead a morcha to the municipality,” Mayekar threatened.
