BICHOLIM: A man decamped with two gold chains worth about Rs 60,000 from a shop at Dattawadi-Sanquelim.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 12.30 pm when a man in his mid-twenties entered a goldsmith shop when the owner, Prachi P Mashelkar, was all alone. He said he wanted to see two chains and when the jeweller showed him the chains, the man said he would come back later as he did not have the money. After some time, the same person returned to the shop and claimed he had
brought with him the money. When Mashelkar showed him the chains, the accused snatched them and ran away. After receiving information, the Bicholim police went to the site and obtained the footage from the CCTV camera. PI Rupendra Shetgaonkar is investigating the case.
