Sanquelim locals demand road repairs

Residents of Sanquelim have demanded immediate repairs of roads and a provision for flow of water to avoid the rising mosquito menace.
It may be recalled that the road in front of Shivajirao Memorial Hall has developed many potholes, thereby leading to frequent accidents. Besides, the road near Progress High School and St John of Cross High School also need immediate attention.
According to sources, the road in front of the Datta Temple, Sanquelim, has also developed a huge pothole, due to which pedestrians and vehicle riders face a lot of hardship.
Sources further informed that due to the work of laying underground cables at different places, the underground water pipelines give away on several occasions, causing water ponds paving way to mosquito breeding.
The water remains stagnant at different places due to improper provision for flow of water.
Villagers have requested the concerned councilors of Sanquelim Municipal Council to look into the matter.
