Sanstha a ‘sacrificial lamb’: NHM

PONDA: The National Hindu Movement (NHM) held a demonstration at the Ponda bus stand to show solidarity with Sanatan Sanstha, which is allegedly being made a “sacrificial lamb”. It also demanded that the government take a firm stand against the imposition of a ban on Sanatan, among other things.
“Police investigations in Com Pansare’s killing are still in progress; yet anti-Hindu forces, progressive elements and political parties have started clamouring for a ban on Sanatan Sanstha before the police and court can arrive at a judgment. This goes to show their political immaturity and lack of confidence in the judiciary,” said Dr Manoj Solanki of NHM.
He added, “If the decision to impose a ban on the Sanstha is arrived at without taking into consideration its mission and the objectives for its establishment, then this would amount to great injustice to an organisation dedicated to social service.”
The NHM also demanded that the State government close the stray cattle management project at the government farm in Kale and that the Centre take immediate action against the UP police who lathi-charged children along with Swami Avimukteshwaranand in Varanasi.
Some of the organisations that participated in the demonstrations were: HJS, Sanatan Sanstha, Ranaragini and Marathi Rajbhasha Samiti.
