PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar has been admitted to a hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka after he took ill there.
Gaonkar, 63, was on a personal trip to Sri Lanka when he fell ill and was admitted. His family members have left for Sri Lanka.
Speaking to media persons, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade confirmed that Gaonkar has been hospitalised and that his condition is stable.
“I spoke to Gaonkar. Even Chief Minister spoke to him and also with the doctors there. His condition is stable now. He will be shifted to Goa once he is fully stable and doctors grant consent,” he said.
