MARGAO: Reacting strongly against the ongoing affairs in the state Congress, Lok Sabha MP Francisco Sardinha has advised the MLAs to remain in the opposition as that is the mandate of the people.
Addressing mediapersons in Margao, he compared the scenario to a couple getting a divorce after being married at a religious institution. He stated that the oath taken by 40 Congress candidates at the time of elections was wrong.
Sardinha said that the people have voted for the MLAs because of the promises made and the MLAs shouldn’t let the people down. He further added that it is wrong on the part of few Congress MLAs, intending to join BJP. “They need to remain in the opposition as it has been decided by the people. I feel that instead of greed, MLAs should work hard for the betterment and development of their constituencies. They also need to fulfil the promises given to the people,” he added.
Sardinha had some advice for the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant too. He said that the CM should not indulge in splitting the Congress party, but instead work hard towards the development of the state with the mandate given by the people.
