Sardinha flays govt for frequent power cuts

MARGAO: The South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha has flayed the Goa Government for constant power failures and malfunctioning of street lights. He has accused that the material equipment used in Electricity supply infrastructure is probably of third class quality. 
Addressing the media after a review meeting the MP held at the Collectorate on Monday, Sardinha said, “People can’t live without electricity today. In the past it was different. There was no water for eight days and it speaks volumes regarding this Government,” mocked Sardinha. 
“The Power Minister was heard saying there will be no power cuts. But today there are power cuts at least 10 to 14 times a day. I can understand when there are natural problems but what is going wrong on normal days?” asked Sardinha accusing that the Government may be using “third class equipment, material.”
The South Goa MP meanwhile has informed that the people proceeding to Valankanni will be relieved to know that the Railways that will use the normal route.
 “People were panicky over the cancellation of trains due to landslides. I am taking up the issue with the authorities for accommodating the backlog of the pilgrims going to Valankani,” the South Goa MP added.
