MARGAO: The Salcete Truck Owners have cried foul over the sudden stoppage of truck transport in and through Chandor village. Local sarpanch has warned of stopping transport of all kinds of construction material into Chandor village if this opposition continues.
Franky Gomes, President of Salcete Truck Owners Association said, “The Sarpanch of Chandor coming ahead and stopping the transport through the village should first look at the numerous illegalities under his nose in the village.”
“They are stopping laterite stones and sand, too. If they continue to stop, we will make sure that no construction material reaches any site of Chandor village,” Franky warned.
“There are several truck owners who stay in and on the borders of Chandor and how are they going to earn a living?” Franky asked.
