With an ever increasing population, congestion has become the order of the day in Vasco. One way to reduce this congestion in the market place is to have satellite markets on the outskirts of the town at places such as Baina, New-Vadem, Vadem, Varnapuri and other places.
Absence of such markets forces people to come to Vasco market for their daily needs thus leading to congestion.
This has also led to vendors selling vegetables, fish, and other eatables by illegally occupying various public places. One sees several women selling fish at the entrance of the KTC bus-stand as well as at the busy Chicalim junction, leading to congestion and raising possibility of accidents.
Hence satellite markets at strategic locations, keeping in mind the density of the population in the area, are the need of the hour.
The places where these satellite markets could come up are Varnapuri, a full-fledged market at Baina and Mangor Hill, mini-markets at New-Vaddem and Vaddem, Sada and Jetty where all essential commodities could be made available under one roof.
This will only mean that the people living here will not have to come to the Vasco market for their daily necessities. This will considerably reduce the number of people coming to the town, thereby leading to decongestion.
