SATTARI: Goa Bhumi Adhikarini Bill would provide ownership to almost twelve thousand house holders of Sattari taluka so locals welcome the Bill and but demand some bonus alongside.
“We are fighting for the full ownership of land right and for our own house for almost six decades now. We feel that the Bhumi Adhikarini Bill, will provide at least the ownership of our houses and this is the beginning. So we support the Bhumi Adhikarini Bill whole heartedly,” says a Sattari local.
Out of twelve thousand house holders of Sattari taluka, six thousand houses come under the Gavthan land and the remaining six thousand under the Alvara, Mokaso, and Government ordered lands among others.
“We have already written a letter to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant saying that we welcome the Bhumi Adhikarini Bill. We however, want some major changes in this Bill, which we have mentioned in the Bill,” he added.
The local demanded the earlier land rate, which was Rs 40 to Rs 50 per square meter and not to make it expensive. “We have also said that if our houses are under 100 square meter area and if we are having the extra land surrounding the house then the Government should provide the N.A. Certificate for remaining 150 square meter of land. We have already submitted this letter to the Government. All Sattari locals are openly supporting this Bill with few changes,” said Advocate Ganpat Gaonkar.
The Dhangar community from Sattari taluka too welcomes the Bill that would give house ownership to almost 415 people from this group. “So we demand Government to take consent of the Governor on this Bill immediately,” said B D Mote, president of All Goa Dhangar Community Association.
