Sattari residents want Bhumiputra Bill scrapped

SATTARI: Voicing their opposition to the Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill, the residents of Sattari taluka at a special meeting held in Karonzol demanded that the same be scrapped immediately as they claimed that it is not in the interest of locals. The residents decided to continue their movement in Sattari and across the State till the bill is scrapped.
Historian Prajal Sakhardande said, “The issue of land ownership in Sattari taluka is being taken seriously as the sons of the soil have been calling for a solution in this regard. It is a pity that the government is not taking it seriously.”
Harichandra Gawas said, “Agitation on the land ownership issue has been going for the past several years.”
