Save Mhadei Save Goa asserts meeting will be held on Jan 16, 2023, at Virdi, in CM’s constituency

After the cancellation of permission to hold the Save Mhadei Save Goa meeting within the jurisdiction of the Sankhali Municipal Council, the forum has vowed to hold the meeting on January 16, 2023, at Virdi, after Amona Bridge, in Chief Minister’s constituency. Mahesh Mhambre said there are attempts to misguide people that the meeting is cancelled or being held in Cuncolim. This is not true, asserted Mhambre. Speaker after speaker condemned the political games played by the ruling party and the politics over the Karnataka elections.

Scientist ARVIND KUMAR SARANG said diversion of Mhadei is a crime. He said there is no surplus water since no studies have been done to define the total amount of water. He said rainfall is sporadic due to climate change and we cannot say what will happen in the next 50 years. Speakers said govt had failed at every stage. They said CM and 40 MLAs should have been at the forefront of the Mhadei agitation.
