The Save Mhadei Save Goa front held a massive protest outside the office of the Water Resources Dept at Porvorim. They condemned the statement of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai that he would go to any extent to divert the waters of River Mhadei. The massive crowd hit out at Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant campaigning in Karnataka and for standing a mute spectator to utterances on stage by Karnataka Politicians that the Mhadei water issue had been resolved and that Karnataka would get water from Mhadei.
The Save Mhadei Save Goa front South Goa Wing has also condemned Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attending the Sankalp Yatra rally in Karnataka. On the same platform, Karnataka politicians declared that Karnataka will get Mhadei water and the issue is resolved. The Front alleged that Sawant had been dictated to keep quiet by the BJP High Command and told to give water to Karnataka and keep quiet. How will Goa fight for Mhadei Water in the Supreme Court, Prashant Naik of Save Mhadei Save Goa asked. This is a complete betrayal they stated.
