Save Mhadei Save Goa Front to hold taluka-wise meetings

To educate people on River Mhadei issue; to prepare a roadmap to further boost people’s movement

PANJIM: Save Mhadei Save Goa Front on Wednesday said that it will hold meetings in all the talukas of the State to educate people on the River Mhadei issue.

“Taluka-wise meetings will be conducted where we will try to educate the people on the Mhadei issue through power-point presentation. Our aim is to reach out to elderly citizens and also the student community. We will make them aware how Goa government has failed us and also point out to them about the possible solution to the Mhadei tangle,” said Save Mhadei Save Goa Front convenor Adv Hrudaynath Shirodkar while interacting with mediapersons in Panjim.

Adv Shirodkar informed that a meeting with the representatives of the organisations, which extended support to the recently held mega meeting at Virdi-Amona Bridge in Sankhali constituency, will be held on Friday and a roadmap will be prepared on further strengthening the people’s movement to save River Mhadei.

Adv Shirodkar asked the State government to inform the public if the Central government has replied to the memorandum submitted to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah by a delegation led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Adv Shirodkar alleged that the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had threatened the people of Sankhali constituency and asked them not to attend the mega public meeting held in his constituency on Opinion Poll Day.
