MARGAO: Deputy Sarpanch of Carmona Village Vailona Fernandes has clarified that Sarpanch Savita Mascarenhas has not submitted a copy of her resignation letter to the panchayat till date.
Savita had vide a letter dated August 14, 2018 addressed to the Director of Panchayat resigned as sarpanch on health grounds. The resignation letter mentioned that copies were given to the BDO and the panchayat secretary.
However, Vailona asserted that the panchayat has not received a copy of the letter. BDO Amitesh Shirvokar has admitted receiving the resignation letter. Savita Mascarenhas faced disqualification for not attending three consecutive meetings of the panchayat.
