MARGAO: BJP South Goa Candidate Narendra Sawaikar filed his nomination for the South Goa Constituency for the 17th General Election to the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Sawaikar was assisted by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Deputy CMs Vijai Sardessai and Manohar Ajgaonkar, MPs Vinay Tendulkar & Shripad Naik, Ministers Nilesh Cabral Deepak Pauskar & Milind Naik and Alina Saldanha.
Adv Narendra Sawaikar handed his nomination papers to Ajit Roy, IAS, District Election Officer & Returning Officer. The BJP Candidate Sawaikar first paid a visit to the Damodar Linga in Fatorda and came in a large rally to the Collectorate office to file his candidature. Adv. Sawaikar while speaking to the media, after filing his candidature said, “We have the support of our alliance partners in South Goa. In fact South Goa has benefited most due to the BJP government in Centre and State. Our victory will be repeated in North and South Goa again this time.”He also urged the people to give the BJP full support to make sure both the seats of Goa are re-elected and strengthen the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant added, “The people of South Goa are with the BJP. The simplicity and reach of our MP Narendra Sawaikar in facilitating schemes for Goans is well known and I say that South Goa will reelect Sawaikar” said Chief Minister.
While commenting on the impact of the MGP breakaway on South Goa, Chief Minister said “The decisions we take are based on the central suggestions, the alliance partner was going against coalition Dharma hence the decisions were taken. However, we see no effect of all this in the election” said CM Sawant.
He also mentioned that the Goa Government will complete 5 years with the coalition partners Goa Forward Party Vijai as they honour the coalition dharma.
Chief Minister also said that he has taken up on him to study the Mining matter and is sure that some concrete solution will soon come out.
Deputy CM Vijai Sardessai said “We are coalition partners and my presence here is as honoring coalition Dharma” said Vijai while extending his support to the candidature of Adv. Sawaikar.

Shripad Naik confident of fifth consecutive win

MAPUSA: AYUSH Minister and four-time Goa MP, Shripad Naik confident of BJP’s victory in Goa for the Lok Sabha polls. He highlighted that the state and country at large had witnessed development under PM Narendra Modi. He added that he has all the support of the party workers.
“The people have reposed their faith in our party as we have completed more than 1000 projects during my four year term. I am hopeful of winning the elections this time as well,” he stated while addressing reporters at Mapusa. He also refuted charges made by the opposition that he has not done any work. . He also remarked about the former BJP oyalist, Sudhir Kandolkar’s move to the Congress party. “I think that he should have been little more patient. The move he has made is not correct. He can still come to back to the party,” said Shripad. He offered prayers at Bodgeshwar temple and also visited St. Jeromes Church in Mapusa and took the blessings of the Parish Priest before kicking off his campaign. Also present on the occasion were Mapusa Municipal Chairperson, Ryan Braganza; the BJP candidate for Mapusa by-polls, Joshua Dsouza and other councillors.
