Sawal decides against contesting LS polls

BICHOLIM: The former Bicholim MLA, Naresh Sawal on Monday, announced that he won’t be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a press conference, Sawal stated that he has taken the decision after consulting his supporters. Elaborating on the reasons behind this decision, he explained that he felt that there was hardly any time left for the elections and that as such it wouldn’t be wise to contest the elections without being able to do more preparatory work.
It may be recalled that MGP president Deepak Dhavailkar had earlier announced that Sawal would be their party’s candidate for the North Goa seat.
Responding to their offer, Sawal said he was grateful for the confidence shown by the Dhavalikar brothers in him and that he had got support from all quarters of North Goa, but based on the decision of his supporters from Bicholim, he decided not to contest the elections.
