PANJIM: Goa TMC on Friday slammed the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government for rising prices, unemployment and crumbling infrastructure in the State.

Taking on the BJP government for the high rate of unemployment and rising inflation, Goa TMC Vice-President Rajendra Kadkodkar said, “The BJP Government is about 35% ‘dalali’. Goa is allocated a budget of Rs 25,000 crore out of which only Rs 15,000 crore reaches the people. The remaining Rs 10,000 crore goes into the pockets of ‘dalals’.”

“The BJP Government has a tendency to benefit the rich. Inflation is skyrocketing in Goa because this Government makes policies that favour the rich and make life of the poor even more miserable,” he said.

Elaborating on Goa TMC’s policies which aim at mitigating the impact of BJP Government’s failures, Goa TMC Mahila Wing Vice-President Pratibha Borkar said, “Despite being qualified, the youth are unemployed. It’s a double whammy for them because there is no income and prices of essential commodities like vegetables and fuel are skyrocketing. That is why one needs to give a chance to Goa TMC.”

“Goa TMC’s welfare schemes like ‘Griha Laxmi’ will provide Rs 5000 per month to a woman in every Goan household. Not just that, with the help of ‘Yuva Shakti’ youth will be provided a loan of Rs 20 lakh at 4% interest without any collateral. Besides the Goa TMC will give you ownership right of land under possession under the ‘Mhaje Ghar, Maalki Hakk’ scheme,” she added.

Goa TMC General Secretary Vijay Pai slammed the BJP over the rising fuel prices.

He said, “Manohar Parrikar during his tenure had promised the people of Goa that petrol prices won’t exceed Rs 60/litre but look at the sorry state of affairs today! BJP has done what it does best – backout on their own promise. This is another ‘Jumla’. Time has come for Goenkars to punish the BJP and the best way to do that is vote them out of power and give TMC a chance”.
